About AHM Hospitality
The Patel family has operated hotels in the upper Midwest since 2015. AHM Hospitality holds and manages the portfolio today.
Rita Kamlesh Patel acquired the family's first hotel — the EconoLodge in Sioux Falls — in 2015. The family managed it directly for nine years before adding TownePlace Suites by Marriott in 2024.
Our Story
From the front desk to the portfolio.
AHM Hospitality began in 2015 when Rita Kamlesh Patel acquired the family's first hotel — the EconoLodge in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. What started as a single-property operation grew through nine years of disciplined operations into a multi-property platform.
In 2024, the family acquired TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Sioux Falls — the portfolio's entry into upper-midscale, branded hospitality.
Today, AHM operates a five-hotel portfolio across South Dakota and Minnesota, with active brand conversions underway in Worthington and Luverne. The company is built on a long-hold, family-owned operating philosophy: acquire underperforming assets in tertiary markets, execute brand-standard improvements, and operate for generational cash flow rather than short-term exits.
